How many times have you lost something and you drive yourself absolutely crazy trying to find it? You run around the house like a maniac searching high and low and then amazingly, when you calm down and go within, you find it!
A few days ago, my husband was in a panic because he could not find the remote control to the TV (now you know this could be a real problem, right~ LOL). I came downstairs and he was really going a bit nutty. My six year old was helping him and he looked at me and said, “Mom, seriously, we looked EVERYWHERE and we just can’t find it!” Of course I joined in and began to get myself worked up. Then I stopped myself before I entered their panic mode and took a deep breath. I thought to myself, ‘self, if I were a remote control, where would I be?’ You know it is healthy to talk to yourself!
When I was a little kid, being raised in a Catholic home, my mom would pray to St. Anthony whenever she lost something and it would magically appear within minutes. I figured, well, it can’t hurt. I said a silent prayer to St. Anthony to please help us find this remote and then gently moved some things around the family room.
Within a few moments, I had a thought in my head to check behind one of the couches. I squeezed between the table and couch (ya know I have eaten a few extra cookies this month) and what do ya know, there it was! My husband and son swore up and down that they both checked there, but it magically appeared.
Now, you may or may not believe in patron Saints…I’m not really sure how I feel about all of that, but I do know that when you put a thought out there in the Universe it does come back to you. I also know that if you truly believe in that thought, then it comes to you even quicker. Perhaps, that’s what was really going on, or perhaps St. Anthony was on duty. I don’t really know, but what I can tell you is that, when you are searching and searching for something outside of yourself, the answers will not come easy, if they ever do come.
When you take the time to breathe deeply, get centered, and look within yourself for the answers, it always comes right to you.
Lesson for today, stop looking for a needle in the haystack…just get a metal detector instead!!
Lots of Love,
